The East Coast Route – from fjord to fjord to… fjord
The charming towns, rich cultural history, and diverse nature on the east coast of Jutland provide the perfect setting for two-wheeled adventures.

This 129 km long, signposted route follows the coastline from Norsminde, south of Aarhus, to Vejle. Along the way, you will pass three fjords, beautifully forested rolling landscapes, and the cultural capital of Kystlandet, Horsens.
The route consists of approximately 85% asphalt and 15% gravel roads/paths.

Follow the blue sign posts
This stretch is a part of The Danish national cycle route 5 (East Coast Route) that takes you all the way from the city of Sønderborg in the South to Skagen in the North. Follow the blue sign posts marked with a red number 5 and get safely to your destination.

Sondrup Hills
Tall hills, deep forests and beautiful vistas characterise this beautiful, top-notch natural area. One of East Jutland's best nature areas located on the shores of Horsens Fjord.

Borre Knob
This narrow peninsula in Horsens Fjord is perfect for short walks along the coast. Follow the beach to the northern point where there is a stunning view over the inlet and its islands.

Staksrode Forest
One of the country’s most striking landscapes is found on the coast between Vejle and Juelsminde. In the large natural forest you can see beautiful views from the wooded slopes.

The treatment paths at the old sanatorium
In the beautiful park at Hotel Vejlefjord, you can take a stroll along the intriguing historical treatment paths. These short hiking trails were once used for the treatment of tuberculosis patients. Todayit is a popular excursion spot in the Vejle Fjord nature area, eliciting great enthusiasm.

Træskohage Lighthouse
A beautiful observation tower in the middle of the stunning nature of Vejle Fjord. Surrounded by fantastic woodlands, it is one of the most popular destinations in the area around Stouby.
